It also runs regular yoga sessions and wellness retreats. The main beaches are Praia da Comporta, Praia do Carvalhal, and Praia do Pego, each with wide stretches of white sand and beach restaurants. Comporta is about a 90-minute drive from Lisbon Airport. You can drive via the highway or take the ferry from Setúbal to Tróia, a short, scenic crossing over the Sado Estuary that brings you onto the Tróia Peninsula. From there, it’s a 20-minute drive south to Comporta. Having a car makes exploring Comporta’s beaches and villages much easier.

Taxis are limited in Comporta and usually need to be booked in advance, as most are based in nearby Grândola or Alcácer do Sal. Ride-hailing apps such as Uber are extremely rare in the area. Most visitors hire a car or use hotel transfer services to get between the beaches and villages.

Comporta enjoys a mild, sunny climate for most of the year. Summer brings long days with highs around 30 °C, while spring and autumn are warm and calm. Winters are cooler but still pleasant for walks and cosy evenings. Mosquito season usually peaks in July and August, so pack repellent if you’re visiting then.
